AWARD UITREIKING
Gisteravond was het zover. De uitreiking van
de award voor het scoren van #1 in de Gelderse Top 100. Tijdens het optreden
van grandioze 60’s & 70’s rock ‘n’ roll band The Four Motions in het
Arnhemse (muziek)café Atlanta, welke bezetting deels uit Hank’s
Jets bestaat schoof uit laatstgenoemde formatie ook zanger/gitarist Arnoud
Holsboer aan. Een sublieme versie van ‘Guitar
King’ werd vertolkt met samenzang van Alfie en Arnoud en het bewonderenswaardig
goede geluid van de zes snarige basgitaar door Theo Gamelkoorn.
Het klonk heel goed, wat de sound van Hank
The Knife als uniek doet classificeren. Én met dank aan Harry (drummer
van The Jets) en Hennie (op de bas). Een band die ervaring en enthousiasme
doet horen en uitstralen. Deze tribute aan Hank krijgt zijn vervolg, vrienden,
waarover later meer. Als – na Hank – oudste bandlid (sinds 1976, een jaar
na de doorbraak) nam Alfons Haket, de man met de gouden strot die tijdens
een goud van oud festival door Arnie Treffers – Long Tall Ernie – werd
aangekondigd als de Chuck Berry van Arnhem, de trofee in ontvangst.

AWARD CEREMONY
Last night was the day. The presentation of
the award for scoring #1 in the Top 100 in Gelderland. During the performance
of the magnificent 60's & 70's rock 'n' roll band The Four Motions
in the Arnhem (music) café Atlanta, which line-up partly consists
of Hank's Jets, singer/guitarist Arnoud Holsboer joined the band. A sublime
version of 'Guitar King' was performed with vocals by Alfie and Arnoud
and the admirable sound of the six-string bass guitar by Theo Gamelkoorn.
It sounded very good, which classifies the sound of Hank The Knife as unique.
Et thanks to Harry (drummer of The Jets) and Hennie (on bass). A band that
radiates experience and enthusiasm. This tribute to Hank will have its
sequel, friends, about which more later. As - after Hank - oldest band
member (since 1976, a year after the breakthrough) Alfons Haket, the man
with the golden throat who during a gold of old festival was announced
by Arnie Treffers - Long Tall Ernie - as the Chuck Berry of Arnhem, accepted
the trophy.

TRIBUTE IN ATLANTA, ARNHEM
The Four Motions is een sixties/seventies
cover rock ‘n’ roll band bestaande uit doorgewinterde enthousiaste Arnhemse
musici, waaronder Hank The Knife & The Jets bandleden Alfons Haket
en Harry Angeneind. Daarnaast
uit Theo Gamelkoorn – die gedurende het Hank
The Knife eerbetoon de zes snarige basgitaar ter hand neemt – en Henny
van de Kamp. Tijdens het zojuist genoemde Hank The Knife tribute schuift
Arnoud Holsboer, zanger/gitarist
van The Jets, aan. Dit optreden vindt a.s.
zondag plaats in Café Atlanta, Staringplein 40 in Arnhem. Entree
is gratis,
en duurt van ca 18 tot 21 uur.
Om en nabij 17.45 uur is Radio/TV Gelderland
eveneens present voor o.a. een bekendmaking van (vol verwachting klopt…)
de Top 3 van de Gelderse Top 100, die a.s. zondag op www.gld.nl zal worden
uitgezonden.

TRIBUTE IN ATLANTA, ARNHEM
The Four Motions is a sixties/seventies cover
rock 'n' roll band consisting of seasoned enthusiastic Arnhem
musicians, including Hank The Knife &
The Jets band members Alfons Haket and Harry Angeneind. Also from
Theo Gamelkoorn - who takes up the six string
bass guitar during the Hank The Knife tribute - and Henny van de Kamp.
Joining them during the Hank The Knife tribute just mentioned is Arnoud
Holsboer, singer/guitarist of The
Jets. This performance will take place this
Sunday at Café Atlanta, Staringplein 40 in Arnhem. Admission is
free,
and lasts from about 6 to 9 p.m.
At about 5:45 p.m., Radio/TV Gelderland will
also be present for, among other things, an announcement of (full of anticipation
beats...) the Top 3 of the Gelderland Top 100, which will be broadcast
next Sunday on www.gld.nl.

Het was een zeer geslaagd optreden in de Peerdestal
in Ellecom.
Het was een geweldig strak optreden, was genieten
voor de barstens volle zaal en dus ook voor de band......
op naar het volgende optreden.

HANK THE KNIFE IS OVERLEDEN †
Op 28 december 2024 is Henk Bruysten
(Hank the Knife) overleden.
Hij was een vriend en muzikant
die we enorm zullen missen.
R.I.P Henk.

Wat een mooie avond was het weer afgelopen
zaterdag. Genoten van- én respect voor de ouwe rockers van

uit de oude doos vanachter het biljart (foto’s) en één en
al
gezelligheid in het café ??. Dank aan
hen en aan jullie dus weer. Nu op nog naar nog meer
gezelligheid met de feestdagen in aantocht.

Als geboren Arnhemmer (1946) had ik Alfons
Haket rond midden jaren 60 weleens aan het werk gezien bij The
Moans, en later, jaren 70, nog een keer met
Long Tall Ernie & The Shakers in Amsterdam, maar tot
afgelopen zondag had ik hem voor zover ik
weet nooit horen zingen, en vanuit de verte (ik kwam
toevallig langs) dacht ik even dat het niemand
minder dan Wanda Jackson in eigen persoon was,
die daar Let's Have a Party stond te vertolken.
Goeie strot en lekkere band ook!

As a native of Arnhem (1946) I had seen Alfons
Haket at work with The Moans around the mid-1960s,
and later, in the 1970s, once more with Long
Tall Ernie & The Shakers in Amsterdam, but until last
Sunday I had never heard him sing as far as
I know, and from afar (I was passing by by chance)
I thought for a moment that it was none other
than Wanda Jackson in person, standing there
performing Let's Have a Party. Good throat
and nice band too!

Het was weer hartstikke gezellig bij De Heeren
van Aemstel. Het was erg druk met gezellige mensen. De Engelsen
waren ook een fantastisch publiek. Zij konden
onze muziek ook waarderen. Wij, The Four Motions, hebben een fantastische
dag gehad. Bedankt Milou Horst en Paul Peters voor de gastvrijheid.
Bedankt publiek voor het enthousiasme en de
positieve reacties.
Tot volgend jaar op de Market Garden.

Een "volle bak" en het was er erg gezellig.

NIEUW DOEK VOOR DE ACHTERWAND
NEW CANVAS FOR
THE BACK WALL
De band heeft een achtergronddoek aangeschaft.
Dit zorgt voor een perfecte sfeer bij onze optredens
en de gasten hebben wat om naar te kijken.
Theo heeft een ontwerp gemaakt en er voor gezorgd,
dat het achtergronddoek geprint werd. Wij
hebben dit doek in de oefenruimte opgehangen om een
indruk te krijgen.

The band has acquired a backdrop cloth. This
provides the perfect atmosphere for our performances
and the guests have something to look at.
Theo created a design and made sure the backdrop cloth
was printed. We hung this canvas in the rehearsal
room to get an impression. |

Deze Ernemmers rocken nog steeds. Zo’n 55
jaar geleden schreven ze er stukjes over ze in de krant.
Nu een foto van The Four Motions, zoals ze

These Ernemmers still rock. Some 55 years
ago, they wrote pieces about them in the newspaper.
Now a picture of The Four Motions, as they
are now called. Alfons Haket, Theo Gamelkoorn,
Henny van de Kamp and Eef Foppen. Excellent
premiere this afternoon!
Het was een geweldig middag. Wij hebben fijn
opgetreden en genoten. Was erg druk met gezellige mensen.
